Bills Release C.J. Gardner-Johnson
Buffalo will keep Te'Cory Couch on its 53-man roster after the safety's departure.

The Buffalo Bills released safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson on Tuesday, November 3, and will keep defensive back Te’Cory Couch on their 53-man roster, the team announced.
Gardner-Johnson started all six games he played for Buffalo this season. He recorded 26 tackles and one interception during those appearances, according to the team’s announcement. The release ends his time on the Bills’ active roster after he missed Week 8 while serving a one-game suspension.
During that suspension, Gardner-Johnson did not count against the 53-player limit. Buffalo used the available spot to sign Couch to the active roster on October 31. The Bills said Couch will remain with the active group following Tuesday’s move, rather than giving up the place he occupied during the suspension.
Gardner-Johnson, 28, signed a one-year contract with Buffalo in March. He won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 season, The Associated Press reported. The Bills did not provide a further explanation for his release.
