Our byline

The Sporting Page Editorial Staff is the shared byline for original work researched, written, fact-checked, and edited by the publication. It is used while the contributor roster is being established. Future stories with individual contributors will identify those writers directly.

How we work

Historical features begin with primary records, contemporary reporting, official statistics, and reputable secondary scholarship. Where the surviving record is incomplete or disputed, the story says so. Sources and image credits appear with the article whenever they are available and relevant.

Current league pages combine live data with clearly attributed links to outside publishers. Those headlines remain the work of the named publisher and lead readers to the original report.

Corrections and questions

Meaningful factual errors are corrected transparently. To flag an issue, ask about a source, or discuss rights and permissions, use the contact page and choose the appropriate subject.
