Dak Prescott has invested in football equipment company LEGION, which announced the Dallas Cowboys quarterback as an investor, partner and brand ambassador Tuesday.

The company’s announcement says Prescott will contribute through product consultation, player engagement and marketing. It did not disclose an investment amount, ownership percentage or valuation.

Prescott’s role combines a financial commitment with an endorsement relationship. The announcement identifies him as an investor as well as a representative of the brand, rather than describing only an advertising campaign.

LEGION makes protective football equipment for players from youth programs through the professional level. The company said Prescott’s involvement would help connect its business with athletes and support its product-development work.

The brand is backed by CoverFour, a sports investment and operating company whose portfolio also includes Chandler Bats, SweetSpot and Emery Glove Co., according to the release.

Prescott said he believed in the company’s products and leadership. LEGION’s chief innovation officer, Curtis Cruz, cited the quarterback’s playing experience as a reason for the partnership.
