LeBron James and Luka Dončić sent cease-and-desist letters to Bron AI over a promotional ad, Front Office Sports reported Thursday.

The video evoked James with a No. 23 “Bron” jersey and included Dončić’s photo. James’ camp demanded an end to use of his identity and notice to users that he is unaffiliated.

FOS said the ad drew more than 900,000 X views before its removal. Bron AI and owner PlayVision did not respond to its comment requests.

What is Bron AI?

Bron’s current Apple App Store listing identifies PlayVision, Inc. as its developer and describes a sports analytics and betting research product. Its features include odds comparisons, player and team statistics, injury reports and a record of users’ wagers.

The listing says the app does not accept wagers or handle real-money transactions. Users can save selections in a single or multi-leg Slip and open an available operator for manual entry. Saving a Slip does not place a bet, and a handoff requires the user’s confirmation.

The company’s published terms describe the service as an informational and entertainment product. They say third-party names, logos and team or league marks are used for identification, with no endorsement implied. The terms also warn that AI-generated analysis can contain errors.

Y Combinator lists Bron in its Fall 2025 batch and identifies Anish Gupta as chief executive and Marc Zoghby as chief technology officer. Its company profile markets recommendations across more than 150 sportsbooks and prediction markets. The profile describes Bron as an active San Francisco company founded in 2025.

The NBA’s prediction-market framework

The dispute follows the NBA’s October 26 framework, which prohibits league and team personnel from trading NBA event contracts and names Kalshi and Polymarket preferred exchanges.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission separately announced an October 26 agreement with the NBA to share information about market integrity. The agency said the arrangement is intended to help protect professional basketball and prediction markets from abuses such as insider trading and fraud.
