Kings Hopeful Quinton Byfield Can Return Against Rangers
Byfield practiced Sunday after missing two games. His availability remains unconfirmed for Monday’s 7 p.m. ET game at Madison Square Garden.

Los Angeles Kings coach Peter Laviolette is hopeful Quinton Byfield can return against the New York Rangers on Monday, October 26, after the center missed two games with an upper-body injury. The game at Madison Square Garden begins at 7 p.m. ET.
Byfield practiced in a noncontact jersey Sunday. He has one goal and one assist in seven games this season, according to NHL.com’s Monday status report.
The league’s projected lineup places Byfield between Trevor Moore and Joel Armia. His return remains unconfirmed. If he cannot play, Los Angeles could dress defenseman Cody Ceci and use 11 forwards and seven defensemen, NHL.com reported.
The Kings will be without Mats Zuccarello because of a lingering upper-body injury. He did not play the final 7:01 of Saturday’s 3–1 loss to New Jersey after previously missing three games from October 10–17.
New York plans to start newly signed goalie James Reimer, who will make his first appearance for the Rangers.
