The Los Angeles Chargers remained the NFL’s only winless team Sunday, falling to 0–7 after a 24–9 loss to the Rams at SoFi Stadium. A 9–3 first-half lead disappeared as the Rams scored the game’s final 21 points and improved to 4–4.

Three Cameron Dicker field goals gave the Chargers an opportunity to end their losing start. Their defense prevented the Rams from earning a first down on their opening five possessions, but Matthew Stafford found Tutu Atwell for a 40-yard gain late in the second quarter.

Kyren Williams finished that possession with a one-yard touchdown run with 19 seconds remaining before halftime. The Rams took a 10–9 lead into the break, then extended it through Blake Corum’s 23-yard touchdown run on the opening possession of the third quarter.

Justin Herbert’s second interception gave the Rams another opening. Stafford connected with Puka Nacua for an 18-yard touchdown, making it 24–9. The Chargers did not score after halftime, despite an afternoon that began with enough defensive stops to keep them ahead for much of the first half.

Herbert finished with 257 passing yards and two interceptions, while Stafford threw for 157 yards and one touchdown. Nacua caught 11 passes for 80 yards. Corum ran for 73 yards, helping the Rams win consecutive games for the first time this season.

The Chargers returned from their bye and still could not reach the end zone. Their running game produced 64 yards, compared with 129 for the Rams, and Los Angeles’ final fourth-down chance ended short of the line to gain. The remaining schedule offers no immediate pause: the Chargers host Houston next Sunday, while the Rams travel to Washington.

The loss extended the Chargers’ worst season-opening run since 2000. Herbert has thrown an interception in every regular-season game he has played this season.
