Blue Jackets Place Emil Andrae and Danton Heinen on Waivers
Columbus put the defenseman and winger on waivers Wednesday. Any move to AHL Cleveland depends on their clearing.

The Columbus Blue Jackets placed defenseman Emil Andrae and forward Danton Heinen on waivers Wednesday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Both players are available to the other 31 NHL teams. If they go unclaimed, they will be eligible for assignment to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate. The waiver placements do not themselves complete an AHL assignment.
Andrae, 24, has two assists in five appearances for Columbus this season. He joined the Blue Jackets before the season in the trade that sent Kirill Marchenko to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Heinen, 31, has no points in 10 games this season. He is on a one-year, $1 million contract, Daily Faceoff reported. After arriving from Pittsburgh last December, he recorded five goals and five assists in 33 games for Columbus last season.
In a separate transaction, Winnipeg Jets forward Brad Lambert cleared waivers Wednesday, Sportsnet reported. Lambert had one assist in 11 games for Winnipeg this season. His clearance does not establish an outcome for either of Columbus’ newly waived players.
