Red Wings Recall Michal Postava, Place Albert Johansson on Injured Reserve
Detroit brings Postava back from Grand Rapids after an unbeaten start to his AHL season. The emergency recall does not name the next starting goalie.

The Detroit Red Wings recalled Michal Postava from Grand Rapids under emergency conditions Wednesday, bringing the goaltender back after a strong opening month in the AHL.
Albert Johansson was placed on injured reserve retroactive to October 24, the team announced.
Postava, 24, was named the AHL’s Goaltender of the Month on November 3. He went 4–0 in October with a 1.25 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage. Through five AHL appearances this season, his record stood at 5–0, with a 1.20 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage.
He has already appeared for Detroit this season. Postava made his NHL debut in relief against Vancouver on October 22, then won his first NHL start four days later in a 4–3 shootout victory at Edmonton.
In his first AHL season, he finished 17–6 in 25 regular-season appearances for Grand Rapids in 2025–26, recording four shutouts and a .937 save percentage. The emergency recall adds him to Detroit’s available goaltending options; it does not name the starter for the Red Wings’ next game.
