Rangers Send Joonas Korpisalo to Hartford on Conditioning Assignment
Korpisalo takes the next step in his recovery from a lower-body injury. The assignment does not set a date for his return to NHL play.

The New York Rangers sent Joonas Korpisalo to Hartford on a conditioning assignment Wednesday, NHL.com reported, as he works back from a lower-body injury.
Korpisalo returned to Rangers practice October 30 after skating on his own earlier that week. It was his first regular-season team practice.
New York lost Igor Shesterkin, the 2021–22 Vezina Trophy winner, for the season after he was injured against Washington on October 9. Dylan Garand and James Reimer have been handling the goaltending duties in the meantime.
The Rangers acquired Korpisalo from Boston on July 1 for forward Kalle Vaisanen and a fourth-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft. The 32-year-old had 14 wins in 31 appearances for the Bruins last season and won Olympic bronze with Finland in February.
The Hartford assignment moves his recovery beyond practice work with New York. It does not announce an NHL return date or establish who will start the Rangers’ next game.
