Emeka Egbuka Ruled Out Against Falcons With Foot Injury

Egbuka has cleared concussion protocol, but his foot injury will keep him out of Tampa Bay’s November 1 game.

Emeka Egbuka will miss the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ November 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons because of a foot injury. The receiver was ruled out Friday, October 30, after limited practices Wednesday and Thursday followed by no participation Friday.

Egbuka has cleared concussion protocol, coach Todd Bowles said, but the foot problem remains. Bowles said the receiver had not reached full speed in practice. Those injuries kept him out of Tampa Bay’s Week 7 victory at Carolina, his first missed game since entering the NFL.

Through six appearances this season, Egbuka has 28 catches for 240 yards and two receiving touchdowns. He also has a rushing touchdown. In his most recent game, against Pittsburgh in Week 6, he caught seven passes for 48 yards and a score in a 26–19 loss.

Tampa Bay selected Egbuka nineteenth overall in the 2025 draft. He played all 17 games as a rookie, finishing with 63 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns. His 14.9 yards per catch led NFL rookies that season, according to the Buccaneers’ player biography.

Chris Godwin Jr. returned to full participation Friday after a rest day, while quarterback Baker Mayfield practiced fully all week despite a right thumb issue. Running back Kenny Gainwell and offensive tackle Luke Goedeke remain questionable with hip and calf injuries, respectively.

The Buccaneers host Atlanta at Raymond James Stadium at 1 p.m. EST Sunday. Tampa Bay enters at 2–5, one game behind the 3–4 Falcons. The Bucs are coming off a 43–13 win at Carolina that included 258 rushing yards and 20 points off takeaways.

Tampa Bay attempted only 11 passes in that victory, limiting the offense’s need to replace Egbuka’s receiving production. His absence against Atlanta is confirmed; clearing concussion protocol has not removed the separate foot injury that is keeping him out.
