World Series TV Ratings 2026: Game-by-Game Audiences
The five-game World Series tracker preserves conflicting Game 3 reports and labels Game 4’s audience as preliminary while final figures are verified.

The Brewers–Rays World Series has produced different audience stories from one game to the next. The first two games each drew more than 10 million reported viewers. A subsequently reported Game 3 figure was lower, while an early estimate for the 12-inning Game 4 was higher but remained preliminary.
This page separates those measurements so a next-day estimate is not presented as an updated final figure. FOX announced 12.259 million for Game 1 and 10.854 million for Game 2. The reporting scope and status of each later figure are shown alongside it.
2026 World Series audiences by game
| Game | Average viewers | Reported scope and status |
|---|---|---|
| Game 1, October 23 | 12.259 million | FOX Sports total; includes Univision. Announced result. |
| Game 2, October 24 | 10.854 million | FOX and FOX Deportes reporting; no Univision simulcast. Announced result. |
| Game 3, October 26 | Conflicting reports: 8.33–8.44 million | FOX and FOX Deportes. Front Office Sports reports 8.33 million; Awful Announcing’s article reports 8.44 million. Final total not independently reconciled. |
| Game 4, October 27 | Approximately 13.5 million | Preliminary; Forbes reports FOX, Univision and FOX Deportes. Updated final figure pending. |
| Game 5, October 28 | Not yet reported | No audience figure verified at this update. |
| Games 6 and 7 | Not available | Not played. Milwaukee won the series in five games. |
Game 1’s additional Spanish-language outlet matters when comparing the opening two totals. Sports Media Watch lists FOX, FOX Deportes and Univision for the opener, compared with FOX and FOX Deportes for Game 2. It also reports the FOX-only audiences separately, so the combined totals should not be relabeled as the broadcast network’s standalone audience.
What changed with Games 3 and 4?
Game 3 reporting is inconsistent: Front Office Sports reports 8.33 million viewers, while Awful Announcing’s article gives 8.44 million. Both describe FOX and FOX Deportes. This tracker preserves the discrepancy rather than declaring either figure final. Milwaukee won the game 10–1. That telecast faced Monday Night Football competition. Both the scheduling context and the lopsided result belong in an assessment of the audience, but the available numbers cannot assign a precise share of the decline to either cause.
The Game 4 measurement is at a different stage. Forbes’ Maury Brown reported an approximately 13.5 million preliminary audience for Tampa Bay’s 12-inning win. He wrote that the figure had been confirmed with a television-industry source and that the updated Nielsen result was due Thursday. The estimate remains labeled preliminary here until that reporting stage changes.
A comparison between the two games must retain those labels. A larger early estimate is useful evidence of interest in Game 4, but it is not yet a final, like-for-like measurement to place in an unlabeled historical ranking.
Why preliminary and final numbers differ
Nielsen’s press-reporting policy explains that Big Data + Panel results generally arrive two to three days after a premiere. It permits next-day claims for single-day events when those are identified as preliminary, with the later update treated as the final result for press claims.
The distinction matters because fast estimates can arrive while the next game is being played. Reporting an estimate does not make it the final result. Before comparing audiences, retain three details:
- The date of the telecast and audience report.
- The outlets included in the reported total.
- The measurement stage: preliminary estimate or updated final figure.
Those details help readers compare figures produced at the same reporting stage.
These are average audiences for individual telecasts. Adding them does not produce a count of unique people who watched the series, because the same viewer can be represented in several games. The figures also do not include a separately verified Canadian audience, and none should be described as worldwide viewing.
What comes next
Milwaukee completed the series in five games on October 28. Games 6 and 7 were not played. A completed series average still requires the final audience figures for those five telecasts. The provisional Game 4 entry will be replaced when its updated figure is verified, and Game 5 will be added with its source and measurement scope intact.
