Cowboys–Eagles Draws 18.8 Million Viewers for Monday Night

ESPN’s combined Week 7 audience tied its best for that week since 2006, with the season-to-date Monday Night Football average up 26%.

Dallas–Philadelphia averaged 18.8 million viewers across ESPN’s Monday Night Football outlets in Week 7, the network announced Wednesday using Nielsen Big Data + Panel figures.

The combined audience includes ESPN and ABC, alongside ESPN2, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes, Disney+ and NFL+. It should not be described as the audience for ESPN’s main cable channel alone.

The Week 7 benchmark and alternate broadcasts

ESPN said the result tied Buccaneers–Lions from October 20, 2025, as its largest Week 7 Monday Night Football audience since the network’s era began in 2006.

The alternative presentations contributed more than one million viewers combined. Those were Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli on ESPN2 and the Playbook with Next Gen Stats presentation on NFL Network.

That alternative-telecast total is part of the event’s combined audience, not an additional amount to place on top of the 18.8 million. Counting it twice would overstate the reported result.

Monday Night Countdown averaged 1.6 million viewers across ESPN and NFL Network before the game. The studio program’s figure is separate from the average for the game itself.

The season average and distribution context

Through seven weeks, Monday Night Football averaged 19 million viewers, up 26% from the same point in 2025. That season figure reflects multiple broadcasts and is distinct from this single divisional matchup.

On the field, Dallas beat Philadelphia 38–21. The game result provides context for the telecast, but the audience release does not quantify how the score affected viewing over the night.

The published measure is average viewership, rather than the number of unique people who watched any portion of the coverage. It also covers the identified domestic outlets rather than an announced worldwide audience.

The main comparison is therefore with the same Week 7 package and measurement scope. ESPN’s record claim is specific to its Monday Night Football era, while the 26% increase describes the broader seven-week season average.
