Netherlands Names Squad for Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy

Babette de Leede will lead the Dutch in a five-team group that includes defending champion Thailand.

Babette de Leede will captain the Netherlands at the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy in the United Arab Emirates, with Carlijn van Koolwijk included in the squad announced Nov. 2.

The Dutch are in Group B with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and defending champion Thailand. The tournament begins Nov. 12 and has expanded from five teams in its previous edition to 10.

Most of the squad also played in the Netherlands’ debut Women’s T20 World Cup campaign earlier this year. The team enters the tournament after drawing an ODI series against Scotland 1-1.

All tournament matches are scheduled for Ajman, split between the Karwan Sports Club Cricket Ground and Seven Districts Sports Club.
