Matteo Berrettini Saves Two Match Points to Beat Brandon Nakashima in Paris
Berrettini survived two match points in the final tiebreak for his first Paris Masters victory. Ugo Humbert awaits in the second round.

Matteo Berrettini saved two match points in the deciding tiebreak to beat Brandon Nakashima 6–4, 3–6, 7–6(8) at the Paris Masters on Tuesday, November 3. The victory gave the Italian his first career win at the tournament.
Berrettini won the opening set before the 14th-seeded American forced a decider. He then survived the two match points and prevailed in the final tiebreak, the official tournament report said. The match lasted two hours and 10 minutes.
The result reversed their earlier meeting in Shanghai, where Nakashima had won. Berrettini now faces Frenchman Ugo Humbert in the second round. Humbert advanced from his opening match on Monday.
The ATP’s results sheet lists Berrettini’s victory in the round of 56, alongside fellow first-round winners Taylor Fritz, Alex Michelsen and Novak Djokovic. Paris is the final ATP Masters 1000 event of the season and runs through November 8, with Berrettini’s win keeping him in the draw for the next round.
