Alex Michelsen Beats Jiří Lehečka to Set Up Alcaraz Match in Paris
Michelsen recovered after losing the opening tiebreak, ending Lehečka’s ATP Finals hopes and advancing to face Alcaraz in the second round.

Alex Michelsen came from a set down to beat Jiří Lehečka 6–7(5), 6–2, 6–4 at the Paris Masters on Tuesday, November 3, setting up a second-round meeting with Carlos Alcaraz.
The American won the first-round match after dropping the opening tiebreak. Lehečka missed a break opportunity in the second set and did not create one in the decider, according to the official tournament report. Michelsen finished the contest with an ace on his first match point.
It was Michelsen’s second career victory at the Paris Masters. His previous second-round appearance came in 2024; this time he advances to face Alcaraz, who was waiting in that section of the draw.
The defeat ended Lehečka’s hopes of reaching the ATP Finals, the tournament reported. The ATP’s Tuesday results list his match against Michelsen in the round of 56. The Paris event continues through November 8 as the season’s final ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
