Marini Says Physical Condition Limits His Qualifying Push in Qatar
The Honda rider missed direct entry to Q2 after managing only one fast-lap run Friday.

Luca Marini said his physical condition limited him to one fast-lap run Friday at the Qatar Grand Prix, where he missed an automatic place in the second qualifying session.
“When I push to my maximum, on a fast lap for example, I am struggling with my physical condition,” Marini said in Honda HRC Castrol’s Friday report.
He said he felt comfortable during routine laps and setup work but could put together his qualifying effort only at the end of practice.
Marini’s best time of 1 minute, 51.548 seconds left him less than 0.15 seconds outside the top 10 at Lusail. He said the motorcycle was working well and the team had improved it.
He must now contest Saturday’s first qualifying session, with two riders advancing to Q2. That session will run in daylight after Friday’s timed practice under floodlights.
