John Gibson is questionable for the Detroit Red Wings’ game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday after leaving Tuesday’s loss at Tampa Bay with a lower-body injury.

The NHL’s Wednesday status report lists Gibson as questionable for the November 5 game, scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Coach Todd McLellan did not have an injury update after Tuesday’s game but said backup Daniil Tarasov is in line for more playing time.

Gibson left after the first period of Detroit’s 4–2 loss to the Lightning. The official final box score credits him with 11 saves on 13 shots in 20:00, with two goals allowed.

Tarasov stopped 12 of 13 shots in relief and played 36:59. He was credited with the loss. Those are completed Tuesday appearances, separate from the next game’s assignment.

Gibson is 4–5–1 with a 3.46 goals-against average and .860 save percentage in 11 games this season. The questionable designation does not establish a confirmed starter for Thursday or a recovery timetable.
