Report: Haney–Paro Unification Set for December 19 in San Francisco
The Ring reports a December 19 Haney–Paro welterweight unification at Chase Center, a more specific development than Haney’s DAZN signing.

Devin Haney and Liam Paro are set to meet in a welterweight title unification on December 19 at Chase Center in San Francisco, according to sources cited by The Ring. The reported matchup would bring together Haney’s WBO title and Paro’s IBF championship.
Mike Coppinger’s report supplies the date and venue, while the full promotional announcement remains a separate step. The report should therefore be attributed, rather than presented as an already published official event release from all parties.
Haney’s agreement with DAZN was confirmed earlier. TSP’s coverage of that signing explained that a multifight partnership does not, by itself, establish the opponent and terms for every future appearance. The Paro report adds a specific proposed contest to that broader business development.
Haney has not fought since defeating Brian Norman Jr. last November for the WBO welterweight title. He previously held championships at lightweight and junior welterweight, making a successful unification at 147 pounds another potential step in a career across multiple divisions.
Paro won the IBF welterweight belt from Lewis Crocker in June. The Australian southpaw previously defeated Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico for a junior-welterweight title, giving him experience winning a major championship away from home.
Uncrowned’s reporting also described the sides as finalizing the December contest. It placed the fight within a wider division picture that includes separate discussions involving Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez, while noting mandatory obligations that could affect later plans.
Chase Center has hosted both Haney and Paro before. Haney defeated Regis Prograis there in December 2023, and Paro stopped Montana Love on the same card. A return would therefore bring both fighters back to a familiar event setting.
The winner of the reported matchup would hold two major welterweight titles, not become undisputed automatically. Any further unification would require additional agreements and sanctioning decisions.
For viewers, the next practical confirmation is the formal event announcement, including the complete card and viewing terms. The current news is the sourced report of a December 19 unification in San Francisco.
