Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Chandler Simpson was named an American League Silver Slugger finalist Thursday despite finishing the season without a home run.

Simpson hit .306 and stole 46 bases in 2026. He is one of nine AL outfield finalists competing for three awards, MLB.com reported.

Only two non-pitchers have won a Silver Slugger in a season without homering: Pete Rose in 1981 and Ozzie Smith in 1987. Simpson has yet to hit his first major league home run.

Winners will be announced Nov. 17. Major league managers and coaches vote for the awards and cannot vote for players on their own teams.
