Dodgers beat Braves 5–3 in NLDS Game 1: final score and updates

Los Angeles beat Atlanta 5–3 in NLDS Game 1 at Dodger Stadium on October 3, taking a 1–0 lead in the best-of-five series. Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker and Max Muncy homered for the Dodgers.

Hernández opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the fourth, bringing home Freddie Freeman. Sean Murphy’s solo homer cut the lead to 2–1 in the sixth before Tucker’s two-run shot and Muncy’s solo homer made it 5–1 in the bottom half.

Tarik Skubal earned the win after six innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out seven on 94 pitches. Brock Stewart and Alex Vesia each retired Atlanta in order during a scoreless inning.

Ozzie Albies’ two-run homer off Tanner Scott brought Atlanta within 5–3 in the ninth. Evan Phillips entered with two outs, walked Mauricio Dubón and earned the save when Austin Riley grounded out to Mookie Betts to end the game. Victor Mederos took the loss.
