Paige Bueckers Receives Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award
The WNBA recognized the Dallas guard’s work in sports access, education and food security.
Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers won the 2026 Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award, the WNBA announced Thursday.
The league’s announcement cited Bueckers’ support for sports access, education and resources for families in Minnesota and Dallas.
The WNBA will make a $10,000 donation to Good Sports, the nonprofit Bueckers selected. The organization provides sports equipment, apparel and footwear to children in communities with limited resources.
Bueckers’ work included a free basketball camp for 95 girls in Minnetonka, a $50,000 donation to the Hopkins Education Foundation and support for a free grocery store at Hopkins West Junior High School.
The award was established in 2008 and recognizes a current player’s community service and leadership. A committee of WNBA and NBA leadership selected Bueckers.
