Sharks Hold Players-Only Meeting After 7-2 Loss to Kings
San Jose’s third consecutive defeat prompted a discussion among the players.

The San Jose Sharks held a players-only meeting after Wednesday’s 7-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, their third consecutive defeat.
Forward Kiefer Sherwood said the players had to take responsibility for their effort. “It’s not on the coaches right now,” he told reporters.
San Jose fell to 7-9-1 after allowing three first-period goals. Adrian Kempe scored three times for Los Angeles, while Macklin Celebrini and Ivar Stenberg scored for the Sharks.
Celebrini declined to disclose what was discussed in the meeting. The Sharks have lost five of their past six games and next play at Minnesota on Friday.
