CBS’s November 1 late-afternoon NFL broadcast led by Chiefs–Broncos drew a reported 28.175 million viewers, giving the network its largest Week 8 audience on record, according to CBS Sports figures reported by Barrett Media and NBC Sports.

The audience was 11% higher than the comparable Week 8 window a year earlier. Barrett Media identified CBS Sports and Nielsen Big Data + Panel as the sources for the measurement.

The result is separate from the network’s season average for its national 4:25 p.m. ET window, which CBS put at 25.306 million viewers. The 28.175 million figure describes the November 1 broadcast; the smaller figure averages multiple weeks.

Chiefs–Broncos provided the main matchup in the late window. The available reports do not establish how the audience should be allocated between that game and every regional component of the broadcast, so the figure should be read with its broadcast-window context.

CBS also did not disclose a separate Paramount+ audience in the reports. The published number cannot be divided into television and streaming totals from the information supplied.
