Clemson expects to be without three offensive starters against Syracuse on Saturday, according to reports of coach Dabo Swinney’s injury updates. Running back Gideon Davidson and center Harris Sewell are sidelined, while left guard Elyjah Thurmon’s availability remains conditional.

Thurmon must clear concussion protocol before returning. He was considered unlikely to play after leaving the October 31 game at Florida State, The State reported Tuesday.

Davidson will miss the Syracuse game with an ankle sprain that does not require surgery. Sewell needs an ankle procedure and is expected to miss several games. Swinney expressed hope that Sewell could return by the regular-season finale against South Carolina.

Freshman Grant Wise is set to take over at center, with Gavin Blanchard listed at left guard. Jarvis Green moves into the starting running back role, while Chris Johnson Jr. and Jay Haynes provide additional options.

TigerNet’s account of Tuesday’s news conference also described Thurmon as awaiting clearance. Clemson, 5–3 overall and 3–2 in the ACC, visits Syracuse at noon ET on November 7.
