Ansu Fati Out for Monaco’s Paris FC Trip; Eric Dier Returns to Squad

Fati remains in treatment for a hamstring problem. Dier is back in Monaco’s traveling squad after missing its last two Ligue 1 matches.

Ansu Fati will miss Monaco’s visit to Paris FC on Sunday, November 1, while Eric Dier is back in the squad after resuming full team training. Monaco confirmed the decisions in its traveling group published Saturday.

The club lists Fati as receiving treatment for a hamstring problem and Stanis Idumbo for a psoas injury. Neither player appears in the announced squad. Monaco has not supplied a return date for either attacker in that update.

Dier’s inclusion resolves a question coach Filipe Luís had left open at Friday’s news conference. The coach said the defender had resumed training during the week but still required an assessment of the risk attached to playing. Saturday’s announcement places him among the available defenders.

That is a squad return, with the starting team still to be announced. Dier missed Monaco’s two previous Ligue 1 appearances, a defeat at Lorient and a draw against Lille.

Without Fati, Monaco has selected Matthis Abline, Folarin Balogun, Paris Brunner and Mathys Detourbet as its forwards. Takumi Minamino and Aleksandr Golovin are also included among the midfielders, giving Filipe Luís other attacking options.

The coach enters the trip seeking a first victory in four league matches. Monaco drew against Toulouse and Lille around its defeat at Lorient. At his news conference, Filipe Luís emphasized converting attacking situations into goals and continuing to improve with a young team.

Paris FC presents a difficult assignment at Stade Jean Bouin. Monaco’s match information identifies Lassine Sinayoko as an attacking threat with six goals and four assists. The fixture begins at 11:15 a.m. EST.

Monaco then has a Conference League match against Nordsjaelland on November 5 before visiting Le Mans on November 8. Those dates establish the next opportunities for availability updates; the club has not confirmed Fati for either match.
