Spalletti Demands Juventus Response As Napoli Visit Follows Early Team Camp
Luciano Spalletti wants Juventus to respond against Napoli after the club and coach brought the squad together early following defeat at Genoa.

“I want to overcome the difficulties and get Juventus back on track,” Luciano Spalletti said in Italian on Saturday before Sunday’s home match against Napoli.
Sky’s October 29 report said the players would train at Continassa and sleep at the club’s hotel on Friday and Saturday, with the stay ending when they left for the Napoli game.
The fixture follows the decision by Spalletti and the club to begin the team’s pregame camp on Friday, early. Sky Sport Italia reported the arrangement after the loss at Genoa, with the squad staying together through Sunday’s match.
Injured players also joined the group, according to Football Italia’s account of Tuttosport’s reporting. Kenan Yildiz, Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram were among those present, while goalkeeper Kamil Grabara remained in Poland recovering from knee surgery.
He also rejected the idea that supportive statements from management were the response he needed. In Sky’s account of the press conference, Spalletti said he wanted a reaction from the team that he was responsible for producing.
The coach praised the way club executive Giovanni Carnevali had addressed the squad. He described that intervention as clear and appropriate, without presenting it as a guarantee about future results or his employment.
Juventus hosts Napoli at the Allianz Stadium at 2:45 p.m. EST. The clubs enter the game level on points, according to Juventus’ official match notes, with Napoli having collected 14 from its first nine league fixtures.
The club’s match notes identify this as the 161st Serie A meeting. Juventus have won 72, Napoli 39 and 49 have been drawn. Juventus won their latest league meeting 3-0 in January. Napoli, meanwhile, has scored at least three goals in three of its last four league matches. Napoli’s last seven Serie A results have brought three wins, two draws and two defeats.
