AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is expected to miss approximately a month after suffering a right thigh injury against Bologna, with further examinations planned in two weeks. The timetable would keep him out past the November international break.

Football Italia, reporting Sky Sport Italia’s update, identified an injury to a medial flexor muscle in the right thigh. Its estimate places Tomori’s return after the November international break, rather than before the derby against Inter.

Tomori had started at right back in Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat against Bologna. He provided the assist for Alphadjo Cissé’s goal before feeling discomfort late in the first half, then was replaced at the interval.

Amorim linked the selection to earlier absences. He said Alexis Saelemaekers had been injured during the international break, followed by Samuel Chukwueze’s layoff, leaving Diego Moreira to play longer without an alternative.

Amorim explained at Friday’s press conference that injuries elsewhere had influenced his selection decisions. He said he had needed Tomori’s characteristics in a wider position against Bologna before losing the defender to the physical problem.

The expected absence extends beyond the derby against Inter, which was the immediate fixture identified when the injury reports were published. Milan’s subsequent schedule includes Ferencváros and Genoa before the international break, followed by Frosinone, Olympiacos and Cagliari later in November.

Those fixtures describe the period potentially affected, rather than a confirmed list of games Tomori will miss. The further scans and his response to rehabilitation will provide a better basis for judging when he can return.

Milan had encouraging news on Adrien Rabiot, Mario Gila and Diego Moreira, whom Amorim said could rejoin the squad. Their availability offers alternatives in different roles, but it does not establish Tomori’s recovery date. For the defender, the next medical checkpoint is the planned follow-up examination.
