Napoli Faces Lobotka Absence With December Return a Reported Target
Napoli confirmed Stanislav Lobotka’s left ankle injury. Italian reports estimate five to seven weeks out, with no club-confirmed return date.

Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka is facing weeks out after the club confirmed a left ankle injury, with Italian reports identifying December as a possible return window. Napoli has announced the diagnosis and the start of rehabilitation, without setting a comeback date.
The club said Thursday’s examinations at Pineta Grande Hospital found an injury to the tibiofibular syndesmosis without instability, together with a low-grade injury to the anterior talofibular ligament in the same ankle.
Lobotka was injured against Monza on Wednesday and left the field on a stretcher after a challenge involving Ricardo Mangas. His inability to continue prompted concern, but the medical statement gave an account of the damage.
La Gazzetta dello Sport estimated a recovery period of five to seven weeks, subject to his rehabilitation. Its report identified Napoli’s December meetings with Club Brugge and Milan as potential return opportunities, rather than confirmed availability.
Sky Sport Italia described an absence of approximately six weeks and discussed a possible mid-December return. Those forecasts come from reporting around the injury; the club’s statement itself does not guarantee either timetable.
Consequently, Napoli must prepare for Sunday’s visit to Juventus without its midfield organizer. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to operate in the deeper playmaking role, according to Gazzetta, with André-Frank Anguissa and Scott McTominay alongside him.
The schedule also includes Champions League visits to Porto and Manchester City in November. Those fixtures make the distinction between a recovery estimate and an actual clearance important when assessing Napoli’s options across the coming month.
Napoli’s December schedule provides the reported targets: Club Brugge on December 8 and Milan on December 13. Gazzetta’s estimate depends on rehabilitation proceeding without setbacks or delays. Those dates identify opportunities within a possible recovery window; they are not medical clearance or confirmation that Lobotka will play either match.
