Nashville Can Match Inter Miami’s MLS Points Record Against Red Bull New York

Nashville SC can match MLS’s single-season points record with a victory against Red Bull New York on Sunday, adding a specific historical target to the Supporters’ Shield winner’s final home game.

Nashville has 71 points from 32 matches. Three more would equal the 74 collected by Inter Miami in 2024, with a final trip to FC Cincinnati still remaining on November 7. Sunday’s kickoff at GEODIS Park is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST.

The club has already secured the Shield and first place in the Eastern Conference. Its remaining regular-season assignments therefore offer a chance to improve its total before the playoffs rather than a contest to rescue postseason qualification.

Home form has made the record pursuit possible. Nashville enters with 14 wins and two draws at GEODIS Park, where it has earned a league-record 44 points. It would complete an unbeaten regular-season home schedule by avoiding defeat against New York.

Goalkeeper Brian Schwake has another target. Nashville’s October 28 match report credited him with 15 regular-season shutouts. A clean sheet Sunday would tie Tony Meola’s individual MLS record of 16, set in 2000.

The team has recorded 16 shutouts overall, one short of the league record of 17. Those are separate marks: the club total includes every Nashville goalkeeper, while Schwake’s figure concerns his own appearances.

Red Bull New York arrives with different priorities. MLS’s match information identifies possible playoff-elimination scenarios for the visitors, whose remaining regular-season game is against Atlanta United on Decision Day. The league highlights Julian Hall’s 12 goals and five assists as part of New York’s attacking production.

Nashville plans a Supporters’ Shield presentation after Sunday’s final whistle. The club’s next competitive objective is the MLS Cup Playoffs, but first it can equal the points standard and finish its home league schedule without a loss.
