Amanda Serrano Announces January 9 Farewell Fight Against Skye Falzon
Serrano will defend her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Falzon in San Juan on January 9, in a bout billed as her career finale.

Amanda Serrano will face Skye Falzon on January 9, 2027, in San Juan in a fight billed as the final appearance of her boxing career. Most Valuable Promotions announced the event Wednesday under the title The Last Walk, with DAZN carrying the card.
The promoter’s announcement places the contest at Coliseo de Puerto Rico. Serrano will defend her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against the Australian challenger over 12 three-minute rounds, the format she has advocated as part of her push for equal championship rules.
Serrano enters the announcement with a 50–4–1 record and 32 knockouts. Falzon is listed at 12–2 with seven stoppages and as the WBA’s No. 4 contender. Those are the announced participants and terms; additional bouts on the card will be confirmed separately.
The January date provides a homecoming for Serrano, whose career has included world championships across seven weight divisions. Her achievements also include becoming Puerto Rico’s first undisputed boxing champion, giving the farewell a significance beyond a routine defense of two belts.
ESPN’s report also confirmed the farewell matchup. Serrano’s rivalry with Katie Taylor helped bring women’s boxing to major international audiences, including their 2022 Madison Square Garden main event and subsequent meetings.
The rounds are an important part of this announcement. Serrano has chosen to compete over the same three-minute championship-round length used in men’s boxing, rather than returning to the more common two-minute format in the women’s sport.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale November 3 at noon Atlantic Standard Time through Ticketera. A kickoff press conference is also scheduled that day in San Juan, offering the next formal opportunity for the fighters and promoters to discuss the event.
The billing describes January 9 as the end of Serrano’s in-ring career. That stated plan does not determine the sporting outcome: Falzon still has an opportunity to challenge for the titles, and Serrano must prepare for a championship defense as well as a farewell.
For now, the confirmed news is the opponent, date, venue, broadcaster and announced final-fight intention, with the remaining card details still to come.
