Fowler’s 46-Save Shutout Leads the NHL’s Best of Tuesday Night
Fowler stopped all 46 shots, Matthew Tkachuk had four assists, and Kent Johnson and Jonathan Lekkerimäki delivered in overtime wins on October 27.

Jacob Fowler stopped all 46 shots in Montreal’s 2–0 win at St. Louis, while Matthew Tkachuk supplied four assists in Florida’s 5–1 victory at Winnipeg. Their performances headlined an 11-game NHL schedule on Tuesday, October 27.
Kent Johnson and Jonathan Lekkerimäki also made three-point nights count in overtime victories. Here are four standouts from the completed slate.

Jacob Fowler: 46 saves and a shutout
Fowler handled the night’s heaviest workload in net. The Blues outshot the Canadiens 46–20 at Enterprise Center, but Montreal left with a shutout victory. His 46 saves were the most by any goalie across Tuesday’s 11 games.
He stopped 42 shots at even strength, two while St. Louis was on the power play and two while Montreal had the man advantage. The Canadiens did not score until 8:37 of the second period. Their second goal arrived at 2:17 of the third, and Fowler kept the Blues off the board the rest of the way.
It was a different kind of winning contribution from the high-scoring games elsewhere on the schedule: St. Louis generated more than twice Montreal’s shot total and still finished with no goals.
Matthew Tkachuk: Four assists across three periods
Tkachuk was the only skater to finish with four points Tuesday. He recorded an assist on each of Florida’s final four goals, helping the Panthers turn an early lead into a 5–1 road win.
Two assists came in the opening period, with another in the second and one in the third. He had two helpers on power-play goals and two at even strength. Florida scored three times with the man advantage overall.
Tkachuk finished with one shot on goal in 16:45 of ice time. The four assists included two primary and two secondary helpers, spreading his contribution across different scoring sequences.
Kent Johnson: Two goals, including the overtime winner
Johnson contributed to three of Columbus’ four goals in its 4–3 overtime win at Philadelphia. He assisted on the opening goal, then scored to make it 2–0 in the first period.
The Blue Jackets eventually lost a three-goal lead. Philadelphia tied the game with 11 seconds remaining in regulation, but Johnson scored again at 2:22 of overtime to finish the win.
He scored on both of his shots on goal and finished with two goals and an assist in 14:41. His second goal gave Columbus the extra standings point after the Flyers’ late comeback had forced overtime.
Jonathan Lekkerimäki: Two late goals in 49 seconds
Lekkerimäki’s scoring came when Vancouver was running out of time in Anaheim. With the Canucks trailing 5–3, he scored at 17:14 of the third period, then tied the game at 18:03.
Those two goals in 49 seconds erased the two-goal deficit. He then added an assist on Vancouver’s power-play winner at 4:49 of overtime as the Canucks completed a 6–5 victory.
Lekkerimäki finished with two goals, one assist and four shots in 19:55. All three of his points came in the closing stretch of regulation and overtime.
