Ben Kindel Returns to Penguins Practice After Medical Episode

Ben Kindel returned to Pittsburgh Penguins practice Tuesday after missing two games following a medical episode aboard the team’s flight from Salt Lake City, according to the NHL’s status report.
The forward had returned to Pittsburgh after receiving clearance to travel. General manager Kyle Dubas said the organization would follow medical guidance on his return to training and competition, Reuters reported last week.
Kindel was taken to a hospital after the plane returned to Salt Lake City on October 20. The club initially described him as conscious, alert and stable.
His presence at practice provides a new on-ice development, but it should not be treated as a confirmed game assignment. Training participation, roster status and permission to play are distinct checkpoints.
The Penguins’ subsequent availability report will determine when he can return to competition. Until that announcement, the clear update is that Kindel has resumed practice; a game date remains unconfirmed in the reports cited here.
