Dana White Says He Offered Shakur Stevenson His Zuffa Release
White addressed the split at the UFC 333 postfight news conference, saying both sides accepted the decision before staging a fight together.

“I have nothing bad to say about him or his team. But I offered them the release and they accepted,” Dana White said of Shakur Stevenson’s departure from Zuffa Boxing.
White addressed the split at the UFC 333 postfight news conference. His comments were published in an edited Sunday report by MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin, who described White’s explanation for granting the undefeated boxer a release.
Stevenson had announced his departure on October 19, after joining the promotion in July. White said both parties were satisfied with the decision.
Rumors of a fight with Devin Haney followed Stevenson’s signing, but that matchup did not come together, MMA Fighting reported.
White said Zuffa and Stevenson had not staged a fight together during a working relationship lasting “a couple of months.”
