Sam Leavitt Earns SEC Offensive Honor After Four-Touchdown Game
LSU’s quarterback received his second SEC Offensive Player of the Week award after the Tigers’ 38–17 win at Auburn.

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after accounting for four touchdowns in Saturday’s 38–17 win at Auburn. It was his second conference offensive award of the season.
Leavitt threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, helping LSU build a 31–10 halftime lead. The victory ended the Tigers’ eight-game SEC road losing streak, according to the conference’s announcement. LSU had lost 32–24 at Ole Miss in September.
He completed 32 of 45 passes, setting a career high for completions. After completing 31 against Mississippi State the previous week, he became the second LSU quarterback with consecutive 30-completion games, joining Joe Burrow in 2019, the school reported.
Leavitt’s first offensive award came after the season-opening win over Clemson. LSU scored on five of its first six possessions at Auburn and won for the second straight week.
Edge rusher Jordan Ross also earned a conference honor Monday. He was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week after recording four tackles, two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss against Auburn.
