Tyrese Haliburton Week-to-Week With Left Hamstring Strain
Rick Carlisle described the strain as mild and said a return within two weeks was unrealistic. No return game has been confirmed.

Tyrese Haliburton has a mild strain in his left hamstring and is considered week-to-week, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle told reporters Wednesday. Carlisle said a return within the next two weeks was unrealistic, according to Tony East’s report from Indianapolis. That sets an early limit on his availability, rather than a confirmed date for his return.
The diagnosis follows an evaluation involving a hamstring specialist, team doctors and Pacers officials Wednesday afternoon. Carlisle had said during a morning radio appearance that the team expected more information after that consultation. His comments clarified the diagnosis.
Haliburton was ruled out against Philadelphia on Wednesday. The NBA’s 7:45 p.m. ET report listed left hamstring tightness and soreness as the reason. He played in Indiana’s first four games after missing the 2025–26 season while recovering from the right Achilles tendon tear he suffered in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
The injury is to his left hamstring. It should not be described as a confirmed setback to that repaired right Achilles. Haliburton averaged 21.8 points, 9.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds over the first four games, shooting 51.6 percent from the field. Indiana entered Wednesday at 2–2 after a 110–102 loss in Milwaukee on Monday.
Haliburton had 22 points and nine assists in that defeat, which came on the second night of a back-to-back following a game in Brooklyn. He spent time on an exercise bike while on the bench. The injury’s cause remains unconfirmed.
Andrew Nembhard was available against the 76ers after appearing on the injury report with neck stiffness and soreness. Indiana still had other absences, including Ivica Zubac with a left ankle sprain. Carlisle’s week-to-week description leaves Haliburton’s eventual clearance unresolved. The next medical update will be needed before assigning a return game or assuming that he will resume his previous workload.
