Sal Frelick Ends Three-Month Homer Drought With World Series Blast
Frelick’s first home run since July 11 tied Game 2 against the Rays and helped Milwaukee take a 2–0 World Series lead.

Sal Frelick ended a home run drought stretching back to July 11 with a sixth-inning solo shot that tied World Series Game 2 on Saturday. The Brewers outfielder drove Ian Seymour’s ninth pitch of the at-bat to center field at American Family Field, bringing Milwaukee even with Tampa Bay at 4–4.
Frelick finished 2-for-4 in the Brewers’ 5–4 victory. The official game record lists the home run on a 92.9 mph fastball with a full count.
He hit only four home runs in the regular season. Saturday’s homer was his second of the year against a left-handed pitcher, Yahoo Sports reported.
The performance left Frelick batting .273 with a .370 on-base percentage in October. He also flew out to right field in the seventh, after Cooper Pratt’s single had put Milwaukee ahead.
The Brewers held that lead to take a 2–0 advantage in the best-of-seven series. Frelick’s homer supplied the tying run after Milwaukee had trailed by four in the first inning.
