Austin Smotherman Beats Seamus Power in Bermuda Playoff for Second Straight Win
Smotherman made par on the third extra hole Monday after the tournament was shortened to 54 holes by wind.

Austin Smotherman defeated Seamus Power with a par on the third playoff hole Monday, October 26, to win the weather-shortened Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. It was his second victory in consecutive PGA Tour starts.
The pair finished 54 holes tied at 16 under, totaling 197. Sunday’s final round was canceled because of strong winds, leaving only the playoff to determine the champion.
All three extra holes were played at the par-3 16th. Both players made par on the first two visits. After officials moved the hole location forward for the third, Power found deep rough and could not save par. Smotherman secured the title with his par, according to the PGA Tour’s final report.
Taylor Moore, Corey Conners and Ben Silverman shared third place at 14 under, two shots behind the playoff pair.
Smotherman’s previous victory came at the Bank of Utah Championship three weeks earlier. The two wins in events awarding full FedExCup points also earned him a place in next year’s U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.
