Leverkusen Takes Five-Match Unbeaten Derby Run to Cologne
Carles Martínez’s side visits Cologne on Sunday with a sold-out away section and a five-match unbeaten run against its Rhine rival.

Bayer Leverkusen has gone five matches without losing to Cologne, a run it puts on the line Sunday in the Rhine derby. About 5,000 Leverkusen supporters are expected in the sold-out away section, the club said.
Leverkusen is coming off a 1–0 loss to Marseille on Thursday, its first Europa League defeat this season. It had won its first three matches in that competition. Coach Carles Martínez said Friday he had spoken with club staff about what to expect from the derby.
Cologne has taken eight of its nine Bundesliga points at home this season. Sunday’s match starts at 9:30 a.m. ET at RheinEnergieStadion, the final league fixture for both clubs before the international break.
