Jonathan Taylor Addresses Trade Speculation As Colts Fall to 2–5

The Colts running back responded to Ayanna Taylor’s social-media posts after another loss. His comments did not announce a trade request.

Jonathan Taylor said he did not mind his wife discussing trade speculation on social media after the Indianapolis Colts’ 16–10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday left Indianapolis 2–5.

Taylor’s comments were reported by James Boyd of The Athletic and republished on NFL.com. His wife, Ayanna, had posted videos considering whether the Colts might move him before the trade deadline.

Taylor said the speculation was already public and that her comments did not change it. His response centered on continuing to work: “you just have to come into work and stay focused.”

He carried 18 times for 95 yards and a touchdown against Minnesota. His 38-yard scoring run gave Indianapolis its only touchdown, but the Colts lost for the fifth time in seven games.

The uncertainty follows the firing of general manager Chris Ballard last week. Boyd reported that Taylor signed a two-year, $44 million extension in August and is under contract through the 2028 season.

The 2026 NFL trade deadline is November 10. Taylor’s remarks did not announce a trade request or an agreement to move him.
