When Is the 2026 NFL Trade Deadline? Date, Time and Deals Already Announced

Trading ends November 10 at 2 p.m. MST, or 3 p.m. in Alberta. The official cutoff, selected announced deals and the conditions that matter when following reports.

The 2026 NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10, at 2 p.m. MST, the same moment as 4 p.m. in New York. The league’s official calendar states that all trading for 2026 ends at that time.

That is the deadline to follow for this season, rather than a date carried over from an earlier year. The calendar also identifies March 11, 2027, at 2 p.m. MST as the opening of the next league year’s trading period. The November cutoff therefore closes the current trading window through the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.

For Alberta readers, the November deadline is 3 p.m. Alberta Time. The province will remain on UTC minus six when seasonal clock changes end November 1. Denver returns to Mountain Standard Time, UTC minus seven. The explicit MST label matters: Alberta and Denver will have different clock readings on deadline day despite sharing a time in October.

2026 NFL trade deadline: Tuesday, November 10

Mountain Standard Time, including Denver 2 p.m.
Alberta Time 3 p.m.
Eastern Standard Time 4 p.m.
Central Standard Time 3 p.m.
Pacific Standard Time 1 p.m.

Trades already announced

Several clubs have moved before the deadline. The selection below covers four prominent regular-season deals verified through team announcements as of October 17. It is not a complete ledger of the offseason or a list of rumored negotiations. Dates in the table identify the cited announcement or confirmation.

Selected verified 2026 regular-season trade announcements
Announcement Acquiring team receives Other team receives Official source
October 12 Texans: Marvin Harrison Jr.; 2027 sixth-round pick Cardinals: 2027 second- and seventh-round picks Cardinals final terms; Texans acquisition
October 7 Ravens: Cam Jurgens; 2027 seventh-round pick Eagles: 2027 fifth-round pick; 2028 second-round pick Ravens announcement
October 1 confirmation Cowboys: Joey Porter Jr. Steelers: 2027 sixth-round pick; 2028 second-round pick Cowboys terms; completion confirmation
September 29 Giants: J.J. McCarthy Vikings: 2027 fifth-round pick Giants announcement

The Harrison deal illustrates why final compensation matters. Early accounts had the late-round selections moving in the opposite direction. Arizona’s announcement says Houston sends the second and seventh, while receiving Harrison and the sixth. Houston separately listed Harrison as acquired on October 12. The Cardinals’ initial announcement retained a physical condition, which should be preserved when describing that announcement.

The Ravens acquired Jurgens after injuries disrupted their options at center. Their announcement identifies three centers on injured reserve and describes a player under contract through 2029. The return also crosses two draft years: Philadelphia receives its fifth-rounder in 2027 and second-rounder in 2028, not both next spring.

Dallas’ initial Porter report was published late September 30; the club’s October 1 follow-up confirmed the completed trade. New York announced McCarthy on September 29, with the transaction pending a physical at that point. The Giants said he was joining a quarterback room that had lost Jaxson Dart for the season.

How to read deadline reports

A report that teams are discussing a player does not mean they have agreed to a trade. An agreement is also different from a club’s later confirmation that the player has been acquired. Check the status and any stated conditions, then identify exactly which player and selections go in each direction.

The draft year is essential. A second-round pick in 2028 does not give its new owner a selection in the 2027 draft. A pick swap involves sending one selection back, so describing only the higher pick can omit part of the price. The Harrison and Jurgens transactions both include a player and a late-round selection going together.

Announcement dates also need context. A deal reported late one evening can receive a team announcement the next day. That difference does not necessarily describe two transactions. Use the terms and teams to identify the same deal before adding it to a tracker or comparing its cost with another acquisition.

What changes after the deadline?

The end of trading is not the end of every roster transaction. The NFL’s calendar separately says that, beginning November 11, players with at least four previous pension-credited seasons become subject to waivers for the remainder of the regular season and postseason. That is a different process from two teams agreeing to exchange a player’s contract for compensation.

For current developments, follow the distinction between an inspected team announcement, an attributed report and an unresolved negotiation. The deals above belong to the announced record. A rumored target belongs outside that table until reliable reporting or a team statement establishes what actually happened.
