Jake Ferguson caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott on fourth-and-2 Sunday, giving the Dallas Cowboys a 10–7 lead over the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. Ferguson went up over safety Camryn Bynum in the corner of the end zone a week after leaving Dallas’ overtime loss to Arizona with an ankle injury.

The Cowboys listed Ferguson as questionable going into the game. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited Friday. Dallas played without wide receivers George Pickens and KaVontae Turpin, leaving Ferguson as one of Prescott’s familiar targets alongside CeeDee Lamb.

It was Ferguson’s fourth touchdown catch this season and his first since Week 3 against Baltimore. He had two against Washington in Week 2, according to his NFL game log.

The touchdown capped a 65-yard drive that took 7:05, according to the Colts’ scoring summary. Dallas had fallen behind after Indianapolis defensive end Laiatu Latu knocked the ball loose on a sack. Caden Curry returned the fumble to the Dallas 19, setting up rookie Seth McGowan’s first NFL touchdown, a 2-yard run.

Prescott went deep to Lamb for a 44-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left in the half. That drive covered 75 yards in four plays and 28 seconds, and Dallas took a 17–7 lead into halftime. The Cowboys posted video of Ferguson’s catch.

“We’ve got good players, and we have to play more consistently,” Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said earlier in the week after Dallas lost 33–30 to Arizona in overtime. Ferguson had left that game early and did not return. His catch Sunday gave Dallas its first touchdown against Indianapolis after an opening field goal.

The Cowboys host San Francisco next Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. Indianapolis stays home to face Miami at 1 p.m. ET. See the Cowboys–Colts Game Center for the score and play-by-play.
