Isak Scores As Liverpool Beat Brighton 2–0 to Climb to Fourth
Pascal Gross scored an own goal before Alexander Isak’s finish. The Reds secured their fourth straight victory in all competitions.

Liverpool beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2–0 at Anfield on Sunday, recording a fourth successive victory in all competitions and moving to fourth in the Premier League.
Pascal Gross was credited with a 17th-minute own goal after Florian Wirtz’s shot deflected off him. The chance followed a Ronald Araujo cross that Brighton only partially cleared.
Alexander Isak doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Bradley Barcola blocked Olivier Boscagli’s attempted clearance, collected the loose ball and delivered a low cross for Isak to finish from close range. Both players had returned to Liverpool’s starting lineup after the midweek win over Villarreal.
Brighton’s Yasin Ayari hit the post in the 36th minute, but the visitors could not score. ESPN recorded 17 Brighton shots, with one on target, despite the away side having 64.4 percent possession.
Andoni Iraola said Liverpool defended deeper and were more compact after halftime. The clean-sheet win came after Liverpool had lost 3–0 to Manchester City at Anfield earlier this month.
