Iowa retained the Heartland Trophy with a 30–0 victory over Wisconsin at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, combining two Hank Brown touchdown passes with a defense that forced three turnovers.

The Hawkeyes led 10–0 after one quarter and 20–0 at halftime before adding 10 more points in the third. Wisconsin was shut out for the second consecutive meeting between the rivals. Iowa’s rivalry winning streak reached five.

Brown completed 20 of 24 passes for 222 yards, connecting with seven receivers. DJ Vonnahme caught a four-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and added a two-yard rushing score after halftime.

Tony Diaz caught Iowa’s other touchdown pass, finishing with four receptions for 75 yards. Vonnahme had five catches for 54 yards, while Reece Vander Zee supplied five receptions for 51.

Iowa gained 362 yards, including 140 on the ground, and held Wisconsin to 235. The Badgers rushed for only 52 yards and failed to turn a promising second-quarter drive into points after reaching deep into Iowa territory.

Colton Joseph’s 41-yard completion to Jaylon Domingeaux helped put Wisconsin near the goal line, but Iowa forced a turnover on downs. The Hawkeyes then drove 98 yards for a touchdown, the official game records showed.

Caden Buhr converted field goals from 24, 28 and 54 yards. Iowa’s official report identified the last kick as his career longest. Xavier Williams led the Hawkeyes with 78 rushing yards on 20 carries.

Domingeaux finished with six catches for 86 yards for Wisconsin. Linebacker Cooper Catalano made a season-high 16 tackles, according to the Badgers’ official report, but Wisconsin could not reduce the deficit.

Iowa improved to 6–2 overall and 3–2 in the Big Ten, while Wisconsin fell to 5–3 and 3–2. The Hawkeyes visit Northwestern next Saturday; Wisconsin returns to Camp Randall to face Rutgers on November 7.
