Cooper Pratt Sets World Series Rookie Record With Six Straight Hits
Pratt’s streak spanned Games 4 and 5, with two more hits and two RBIs in Milwaukee’s championship-clinching victory over Tampa Bay.

Cooper Pratt set a World Series rookie record with hits in six consecutive at-bats across Games 4 and 5, helping the Milwaukee Brewers complete their first championship Wednesday.
The shortstop followed his four-hit performance Tuesday with two more hits in Milwaukee’s 4–1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. His fifth-inning single completed the record sequence.
Reuters’ Game 5 account identifies the previous rookie mark as Brian Doyle’s, established with the New York Yankees in 1978. Pratt’s run connected two games with outcomes for Milwaukee.
In Game 4, Pratt homered in the 12th inning to give the Brewers a lead they could not preserve. Tampa Bay rallied to keep the series alive, denying Milwaukee a sweep despite his four-hit night.
Pratt responded in the clincher with an RBI single in the second inning. Another single in the fifth extended his streak and helped set up a further Milwaukee run.
A sacrifice fly in the sixth added his second RBI of the game. That plate appearance produced a run without another hit, adding to Milwaukee’s advantage as the championship came within reach.
His series totals included eight hits in 19 at-bats and seven RBIs. Those contributions made him a prominent alternative in the MVP discussion, although catcher William Contreras ultimately received the official award.
The record concerns consecutive World Series hits by a rookie. It should be kept separate from a general postseason hitting streak or a claim that he broke the overall record for every player.
Pratt’s response to the previous night’s disappointment came in the next game’s scoring. His early single helped Milwaukee establish a lead, and his later run production contributed directly to the title-clinching result.
The Brewers won the series four games to one, closing an October in which the rookie became a central contributor.
