Carlos Alcaraz Reaches First Paris Masters Final, Will Face Ben Shelton
Shelton beat Luca Van Assche in three sets to set up a rematch of September’s U.S. Open quarterfinal.

Carlos Alcaraz beat Casper Ruud 6–4, 6–4 on Saturday to reach his first Paris Masters final. He will play Ben Shelton on Sunday in a rematch of their U.S. Open quarterfinal.
Alcaraz did not face a break point against Ruud and finished the match with an ace. He had saved two match points against Taylor Fritz in Friday’s quarterfinal.
Shelton beat France’s Luca Van Assche 5–7, 6–3, 6–4, winning four straight games after falling behind 3–1 in the third set. He is the first American to reach the Paris final since Jack Sock won in 2017.
Shelton knocked Alcaraz out of the U.S. Open in five sets in September. Alcaraz leads their career series 3–1.
