Canelo Álvarez Arrives in Riyadh Ahead of Christian Mbilli Title Fight
Álvarez arrived with Oleksandr Usyk ahead of the scheduled October 31 WBC super middleweight championship bout.

Canelo Álvarez has arrived in Riyadh alongside Oleksandr Usyk ahead of his scheduled October 31 challenge against WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli.
DAZN Boxing and organizer Turki Alalshikh shared arrival footage Sunday night ET, showing Álvarez in the Saudi capital before the Mexico vs. the World card.
“I love to be here in Riyadh, and I’m excited to fight on Saturday, so I can be a world champion again,” Álvarez said on arrival, NY Fights reported.
Álvarez and members of his stable had been training at Usyk’s gym in Spain. Featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza also traveled with the team, according to the report.
The scheduled bout would be Álvarez’s first appearance since his September 2025 loss to Terence Crawford, Reuters reported. He said the break had given him needed rest and credited Usyk’s team for its help in camp.
The published fight-week schedule lists grand arrivals for Wednesday, October 28, followed by Thursday’s news conference and Friday’s weigh-ins.
