World Aquatics and the European Broadcasting Union have extended their media rights partnership through 2032, the EBU announced Tuesday.

The agreement runs from 2027 through 2032 and covers 23 EBU members. It includes the world championships in 2027, 2029 and 2031 and the short-course swimming world championships in 2028, 2030 and 2032.

The package also covers World Cup competitions in swimming, artistic swimming, diving, high diving, open-water swimming and water polo. The EBU said coverage will extend across television, digital platforms and social media.

Budapest’s 2027 world championships, scheduled for June 26-July 18, are a principal event in the renewed deal. The agreement was secured with support from World Aquatics’ international media rights agency, SPORTFIVE.

The next major event on the federation’s calendar is the November 6-7 Open Water Swimming World Cup meet in Cancún. Beijing hosts this year’s short-course swimming world championships December 1-6.
