Andrew Farrell Announces Retirement After 14 Seasons With New England
The Revolution defender holds the club’s records for appearances, starts and minutes played.

New England Revolution defender Andrew Farrell will retire after the 2026 season, ending a 14-year professional career spent entirely with the club.
Farrell, the first overall selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, holds New England’s career records with 389 appearances, 352 starts and more than 33,000 minutes played.
He helped the Revolution reach MLS Cup in 2014 and win the 2021 Supporters’ Shield, when they set a then-league record with 73 points. Farrell has received five of the club’s Defender of the Year awards and four Humanitarian of the Year honors.
The Louisville product announced the decision while New England’s season was still ongoing. His retirement will take effect after the campaign rather than immediately.
