Brittney Griner will enter Unrivaled’s player pool and pilot a new coaching development program during the league’s third season, the league announced Wednesday.

The program will give Griner mentorship from the league’s head coaches and practical coaching experience while she continues playing. She previously competed for Phantom BC in 2025 and Vinyl BC in 2026.

Player pool members train daily with dedicated performance staff and can be assigned to clubs when injuries create openings. They return to the pool after those assignments end.

Griner is one of six players in the pool. The arrangement is separate from a permanent place on one of the eight club rosters.
