Caitlin Clark’s first children’s book, EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, was published November 3 by Random House Books for Young Readers. The Indiana Fever guard’s picture book pairs a personal message about support with illustrations by Adriana Predoi.

The publisher lists the book for children ages four through eight, from preschool through third grade. The 32-page title is available in hardcover and ebook editions. Its focus is the people who help children believe in themselves and pursue what matters to them.

The idea grew from an inscription on a mirror in Clark’s childhood home. The Associated Press reported in April that the message distinguished ordinary from extraordinary through a little additional effort. That thought supplied the book’s title and its emphasis on giving attention to people as well as goals.

“I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams,” Clark said in the original announcement. The verse draws on her experience without presenting a detailed account of her basketball career.

In a release-week interview with AP, Clark credited her mother with encouraging reading when she was young. Their family’s Christmas Eve tradition of giving books continues, with her mother adding a written note inside each one.

The project also connects with Clark’s work beyond competition. Her foundation supports young people through education, nutrition and sport, according to her publisher biography. The book gives those readers a message built around relationships rather than a collection of game highlights.

A library binding edition is also listed, giving schools and libraries a format alongside the standard hardcover and ebook.

Predoi, the illustrator, grew up in Romania and studied fine art before concentrating on children’s illustration. Her images accompany the rhyming story as Clark adds publishing to a public career already centered on basketball.

The hardcover measures 10 by 10 inches.
